The Fernblick app
Data on your device
The computers you add (name, address, port, user name, settings) are stored only locally on your device. Passwords are kept in the iOS keychain and never leave the device (no iCloud sync). For the widget and shortcuts, the names and addresses of your computers – without passwords – are shared in a keychain area accessible only on this device. Deleting the app removes this data.
Connections
Fernblick connects only directly to the computers you choose (VNC/Screen Sharing) and uses Bonjour to find Macs on your local network. Screen contents, input and clipboard are transferred only between your device and your computer. There are no servers of mine that your data passes through.
Face ID
If you protect saved passwords with Face ID, iOS performs the check. The app only receives the result (passed or not), never biometric data.
Trial and purchases
The trial and Fernblick Pro are handled by Apple’s App Store. Apple processes the necessary data under the Apple Privacy Policy. I only receive aggregated sales reports from Apple without any personal information. The app checks your purchase status with Apple directly on your device.
Crash reports
Fernblick contains no analytics or crash reporting services of its own. If you have enabled “Share with App Developers” in iOS under Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements, Apple provides me with anonymized crash and usage statistics. You can turn this off there at any time.
The rillwerk.app website
This website uses no cookies, no tracking and no analytics, and loads no third-party content (no external fonts, scripts or videos).
When you visit, the web server processes technically necessary data (in particular your IP address) to deliver the site. Visits to this website are not logged. Only in case of technical errors may the server record the IP address in an error log; error logs are deleted regularly, after about three months at the latest. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure operation). The site runs on my own server.
Contact by email
If you write to me, I use your details only to answer your request (Art. 6(1)(b) or (f) GDPR). Emails are received via iCloud Mail (Apple). I delete the correspondence once it is no longer needed.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Please contact the address above. You may also lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, e.g. the Saxon Data Protection and Transparency Commissioner (Sächsische Datenschutz- und Transparenzbeauftragte).
